STOWE GARDEN,BUCKINGHAMSHIRE.

Woke up hesitantly early in the morning lacking any particular path of thoughts about what to do on last lazy Saturday. Weather too bad to go outside-too overcast and nearly zero degree outside.Anyway after having the morning routine,I did just went through National Trust directory to find out a place to visit not far from my home.Flipped though a few pages and spotted Stowe garden which is only about 25 miles from here. Started my car at 9.30 and driving though a mixture of A and B type roads reached Stowe at 10.30.Showed my NT card and entered the garden.At the gate the volunteer greeted and helped me with route map,but declined as I am already familiar. Stowe garden was created by , Lord Cobham, who set the gardens out to reveal his beliefs about the politics and morality of the day. Which path will you choose - Vice, Virtue or Liberty? Surely it is a heaven on earth.

The Madman of Palakkad

It is a famous tourist destination and pilgrim place. There is a temple on the top of this hill. It is a serene and beauteous piece of nature in located at Naduvattam Palakkad district in Kerala.

The hill has 500 feet's of height and has the area around 300 acres. 'RayiraNellur mala' was dwelling place of NARANATH the madis 8 km far from Valanchery town.

It is believed that Naranath was rolling up the stone to the top of this hill and when he reaches top, he used to push the stone down to the valley. On reaching the top he used to roll them down and had burst out to laughter. It is said that he had done it by realising statue of Naranath, the mad at the south-west corner on the hill peak. It is the result of architect called Surendra Krishnan.

Along with the 18 feet height statue there is a symbol of the huge stone, which he rolled up to the hill. He was one of the members of 'Parayi Petta Panthirukulam (Pantheerukulam) - The 12 issues of Parayi' Family. I got to know about this place from my family relatives of Palakkad. My brother took me to the place, I truly enjoyed alot . So if you're visiting Palakkad in kerala then make a time to visit this historic place.

After a disappointing experience upon reaching Skandagiri, where we weren’t allowed to go ahead with our trek by officials, we decided to go to drive up to Avalabetta. (A hilltop 90km from Bangalore) This was a beautiful midnight drive with friends, which is otherwise a lovely early morning drive as enjoyed by most people. The dark night, thunderstorm, overgrown foliage and the narrow road coiling to the top gave the drive an uncanny tinge. We reached the top at around 3 am, and began our return at 7 after sunrise. The darkness on our way up didn’t allow us a single glimpse of the landscape, amen also to the dreamy early morning fog that enveloped us. So we had no clue about what surrounded us, our return held the mesmerizing revelation of the landscape.

That trip to Harishankar

It was on the 22nd of September in 2016 when I first planned to visit Harishankar. Harishankar is situated on the slopes of the beautiful Gandhamardhan Hills, of Odisha. It is popular spot for picnics for people all over the state and people come here to visit from different states too. The main attraction here is the Harishankar Temple and the ancient Buddhist ruins, which are considered to be remnants of the ancient Parimalgiri University. I started my journey with two of my friends in my car from Balangir, Odisha. On the way we found many tourists going to Harishankar which made us really happy. After going some 40 kilometers we stopped to have some roadside tea. The tea stall owner said us to reach Harishankar early and enjoy the bath at its waterfall which was very famous. We thanked him and got back to our trip again when suddenly heavy rain started. My friends asked me to stop the car and wait for sometime but I insisted on continuing because it was getting dark due to heavy clouds even at noon. Finally they agreed to my idea and we kept the vehicle moving and then finally we reached our destination at 3.00 PM. The first thing we did was to take a good bath in the famous Harishankar waterfalls after which we ran for the famous Temple because without a prayer to the deity there, our journey would've been a waste of time. Once we were done with the prayers we went to have the prasad or the holy food which was tasting like it was prepared by God himself. After enjoying the meals we again went to the waterfalls to have a bath and this time we bathed for a little longer. Then finally we went to the home of one of our friend who was living in Harishankar and whom we met some years ago in Bhubaneshwar during our B.Tech days. We stayed there with him for some time, enjoyed good food and finally started our journey back at 9.00 PM. The return journey was good but at a remote stretch in the way a lady with a very weird look asked us for lift to which my friends disagreed out of fear. We overtook her. Then I said lets see, maybe she is in some trouble. When we went back a little to find her she was not there. We were very afraid after this and without thinking much about the incident we kept moving on and finally we reached Balangir and heaved a sigh of relief. Once at home we took our meal and went to bed but I was not able to sleep the whole night due to that one last incident. However I must say that the trip was an overall success due to the adrenaline rush we experienced throughout the way.

A Visit To Taj

It was a beautiful morning with the sun glaring in my eyes and the first thought that came into my mind was “Get Set and Go for The Taj”. As my exams got over just a day before, we made a plan to visit the most marvelous monument: “The Taj Mahal”. The Taj Mahal is located on the banks of the river Yamuna in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India and was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal way back in 1648.

We had whole family trip with my aunt and nephew altogether. So, we started early in the morning so that we can get the tickets and save ourselves from the “never ending queues” at the ticket counters. We booked a taxi and started at 8 am in the morning. As, cars or buses aren't allowed within a 500 meter radius, as a measure to control pollution, so we decided to take a walk and finally reached  the southern gate of the Taj at around 9 am.

As we proceed further, we were astounded by the enormous walls made of red stone guarding the main structure from 3 sides and then there is “The Great Gate” aka “Darwaza I rauza”. It was a huge gate and this idea drives me crazy as how did they build such huge structures when nobody ever thought of a thing like skyscrapers. On stepping inside, we were stuck for a moment by the mesmerizing view of the Taj. It seemed like the time stopped and our legs got frozen by the ravishing view of the fountains of the ”Charbagh” , aka , “The Gardens” and the marvelous white marble structure behind the them. I wished to stand there whole day and not to take a step forward, but just as I thought about it, I heard a voice from behind insisting me to move forward. I looked back and there was the security guard. So, we moved on further, gazing through the beautiful gardens and reached the counter for placing the shoes/sandals. As shoes are not allowed inside the white marble structure yet you can buy shoe covers if you do love wearing your shoes that much :-).

It was noon by now and the sun was scorching due to which, the white marble on which we were walking was extremely hot. We were literally running to find any shade to stand and rest. Yet, it was an amazing experience running all over the place with blazing feet. As we moved on, we came to know about some of the exciting things about Taj Mahal.

It took 22 years and about 20,000 people to build this amazing structure. The Taj Mahal is one the world’s most symmetric structures with its four sides being perfectly identical. The four minarets were built slightly tilted outside to prevent them from falling on the main mausoleum, in case of any natural calamity like earthquake. One place where it fails to show symmetry is the size of the tomb of the Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal having the male tomb is larger than the female one. The calligraphy inscribed on the walls of Taj by Amanat Khan contains verses and passages from the holy book of “Quran” in Thuluth script.

It took us around three and a half hours to cover the whole monument, taking pictures in every possible posture and then we came out of the monument. On our way back, we saw several Souvenir shops selling key rings, books, miniature models. I also bought one miniature Taj as a Souvenir of my visit at a very reasonable price of 150 rupees. It was overall a very beautiful experience visiting Taj and now I understand why million of visitors come every year, why it is considered in the “Seven Wonders of the World list”, why it is a national heritage.

My Road Trip From Chennai to Pondicherry

I had never thought of going to South India in my life.But I forcefully went to Chennai to my friends place as my exams were over.I reached Chennai at 4 o clock in the morning.My friend was there at the station.As we met each other,the first thing that my friend said was “we’ll be leaving for Pondicherry after sometime” .. I was tired,and I told him we will leave tomorrow. We reached at his place,during the whole journey from station to his place my friend somehow convinced me for the road trip. I was too tired and was totally not in a mood for a long long bike ride all the way to Pondicherry. I asked my friend that is the condition of the bike okay,he smiled and replied that we’ll be going in a car,ahh!! When I heard that i was very happy,because I thought I can sleep in the car. .

Our breakfast was over,and now it was time to leave.My friend was on the driving seat and I was beside him. We left from Chennai and as soon as we were in the highway,the first thing was the roads. The roads are so well maintained and are soo big.The scenic beauty,we could see the sea sometimes from the road. My eyes we wide open,I felt energetic that time. My friend and I we had a bath in the sea it was near to a small village. The people over there used to catch fish to feed themselves and there family,and they also sold them for money.As their was a communication problem so we didn’t wait there for long. We reached Pondicherry,it took 3 hrs or maybe 3 n a half hour. . Roadways in South India is very good. People who love to go for rides and long drives will definitely love this trip.Pondicherry is a nice place. There are many places over there which you will fall in love with.

Venturesome Solace in Palampur

Being a person who has been brought up in the plains, mountains have always amazed me putting forth their beauty in a strange and bewitching way. So, when we planned a trip to Palampur, my instant reply was ‘YES’, after all, it was a hill station and the best part, it was decided that we’d travel by bus (there is something amazingly different about road trips).

A little introduction before we enter the trip:

‘We’ stands for 16 people from an office in Noida who planned a trip to get away from work for 3 days. 

The trip was planned for 29th of Jan 2016. We left Noida at 11 pm with all the enthusiasm we could’ve collected. Everyone was a rockstar and songs motivated us even more, you know, Punjabi songs have vivacity at their core. Anyway, so we started our journey and our first stop was 'Murthal Dhaba' in Haryana. We were really too lethargic to go inside the dhaba, so we got food packed and started our journey again (Yummy paratha and other add-ons like butter even further added to our Punjabi mood). It was almost 2 am when we had our dinner and within an hour everyone (of course, we had a few night owls with us so everyone is not an apt word but almost everyone) was asleep. It was around 6 when we woke up, it was drizzling and it was marvelous, we were surrounded by trees, nature and a wonderful breeze. Time flew by, it was around 10 am when we stopped at a small tea stall to stretch our legs and have our 1st tea. After the tea break, we resumed our journey. It was around 1 pm when we reached Palampur situated in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. A person from the hotel came to receive us and our bus began to follow his car. After a while, we were amid the mountains wondering why the bus has stopped !!

Well, we were told that we had to walk further to reach the hotel. We sadly came down and after looking at the view, we were all delighted. It was really amazing as if it had everything that one can possibly dream of about peace, beauty and nature. River, mountains, valley, trees… just fabulous. We had to walk 1 km (or so) to reach the resort and the path was just beautiful. But the resort was even more beautiful.

Tired we ran to choose our rooms and the room that I stayed in had this enchanting view from the window. It really felt that I was witnessing a beautiful creation of mother nature. Mesmerised, we had our lunch and then went to the Beas river flowing nearby. Although we were mesmerised enough, but the cold water compelled us to sit on the rocks and just dip our legs in the water.

We had to go for trekking so we returned to the hotel and got ready to leave. It was already 4 pm. We went to a temple which is known for being “Kuldevi’s temple”, and then took a road (a narrow path in fact) nearby for trekking (or just walking into the mountains without any motive). It was getting dark hence, we decided to stop walking and come back. It was around 8 pm when we reached the hotel, it was dark enough to use flashlights of our phones while walking back and it was cold enough to arrange a campfire and so we got a campfire. Antakshari, dance, talks and stories made the time fly and even the staff there enjoyed with us and told us several horror story (it really felt as if we were part of a horror movie).

Well, the best thing about the night was the clear sky with millions of stars and the beautiful moon. The dark sky filled with stars has its own attraction. Something that we miss in the metropolitan cities. It was around 2 that everyone went to sleep. We had to wake up at 8 am next day for going to Bir for paragliding. You know what is the best thing about paragliding ?? The time when a vehicle (a van, in our case) takes you to a height (literally height) that you never imagined being at and you see people jumping from that height, you shiver inside but can’t tell anyone as the people around you are your friends who’ll certainly make fun of you (although they’ll make fun afterwards as even they’ll be feeling same at that point in time). But the most beautiful thing about paragliding is the feeling of being stable amid cold breeze with nothing but a few wires holding you. It’s just amazing when you look down and everything looks so small, so worthless and so different.

After paragliding, we had lunch and went to a monastery. The monastery was quiet as they are usually and the peace that was being planted inside us can’t be compared with anything else. The seats for people to pray, the incense stick with this captivating fragrance and the solitude, everything was just perfect to make you feel closer to nature.

It was around 4.30 pm so we didn’t have much time to roam around. We also stopped by a tea garden (Only for having some clicks, after all, even that is important ߘ ) We came back at the same time i.e. 8 pm and had campfire again with a few more stories, songs, dances and dinner. We left Palampur at 10 am the next day, but we really wanted to be there a few more days, even discussed shifting our office amidst mountain and valley. Well, we reached Noida around 11 pm but the beauty that place had still remained within us and we still want to go there whenever time and circumstances permit.

Agra-the valentine trip..

4:30 am,Sriparna! Did u call the cab? Its late yaa..we need to reach the Hazrat Nizamuddin Station by 6:30 AM. This is how six of us began our day and finally executed the long time plan to visit Agra. It has been one and a half year in Delhi..we hardly visited any nearby place.Actually the date for the trip was really interesting. 14th Feb, we see couples all over,after all its "their day" to celebrate. We single ladies decided to celebrate the day visiting the place which stands as a symbol of eternal love. A great start to the day,managing all by ourselves. From cab to the station in the early hours of the morning..a time of the day which hardly any of us bother to experience. The beauty of the dawn..the chilling wind..the silent roads..all opposite to the actual scenario of the busy city. We boarded the train around 7 in the morning. The train was on time we started our indefinite journey,as we were uncertain about our return. But none of us seemed tensed or worried we went with the flow. Everything was moving smooth,everything seemed soothing..the train journey felt refreshing,we felt quiet an individual among ourselves. Anyways..time to board down its Agra Cantt. All of us with absolute negative idea of the place stepped out of the station,hired an auto..adjusted ourselves and left for our ultimate destination..The Taj Mahal. Its an eternal beauty indeed.The preciousness of the place cannot be placed into words.One has to experience the beauty..the beauty of the monument can be felt..,can be related to. One would feel the value of LOVE. How priceless the feeling of Love is ..is very well defined by The Taj Mahal. One can fall in love all over again retaining within the peacefulness of the place..thus it is..

THE TAJ !! Spending hours at the Taj Mahal , discussing all optimist opinions about how successful the plan has been as yet,we finally thought over our return. On our way back..all of us kept pondering over the beauty we experienced. May be i was one of them who thought to experience LOVE..

McLeodganj-Little Dhasa

Recently I visited McLeodganj- the ultimate destination for all the foodies and adventure lovers. Majorly inhibited by Tibetans, the hill station is famous for its Tibetan cuisine, in addition to Israeli and Mexican. One can try variety of restaurants and cafes from Main Square to Bhagsu Road and will never get disappointed. Each restaurant having its own speciality, I would tell you my favourites from a vegetarian’s point of view. Your must try bucket list should definitely consist of Carpe Diem on Main Square for the ambience of the place, and even more for their delicious wood-fire oven pizza, which goes well with a beer. It is a typical party destination, usually full of foreigners and you can feel the love in the atmosphere, with guitars in the background. Hungry much? Go to The Chocolate Log at the end of the Main Square for the yummiest North Indian Food, your evergreen paneers and butter naans, or try their delicious pastas. Do not forget to taste the beverages. My favourite one would be their Cafe Mocha. Yum yum.

Hill stations are quite famous for their momos, aren’t they? Try steamed or fried or tandoori, veg or non-veg momos at the Tibet Kitchen in Main Square, you’ll probably love them all, if you can compromise on your spice buds a little. Also, do fulfil your sweet cravings by grabbing a bite from Tibet Quality Bakery and The Pastry Shop, both on Main Square.

The Main Square has almost 100 restaurants, maybe even more, so I definitely couldn’t explore all of them in my four day trip. Do share about your McLeodganj food experience in the comments. Now the roads diverge from Main Square. The one towards Bhagsu Temple awaits you for more appetising food. Just a little distance walked and you see Nick’s Italian Kitchen to your right. Walk into this place for a wonderful pizza experience. Continue on the road and at the end of the main road, you’ll reach German Bakery, which is usually having a waiting if you go at peak hours. This is a cool place to hangout, the pebbled floor and the graffiti and posters on the walls making it an appealing hangout for youngsters. The place serves a variety of cuisines from Indian to Israeli to Mexican to Italian. The quantity of food in a single serving is quite huge, and so is the taste of the food. I ordered Mexican Mushroom Tacos and was already full upon eating off just half of my plate, but couldn’t resist the savoury food.

Next, walk towards the Bhagsu Waterfall and on trekking little above the waterfall, you’ll find Shiva Cafe. Starting with, this place has a pool. You can view the waterfall on one side and greenery all around. Where else would a person want to be if not here. The sculpture of Lord Shiva and many other pictures of gods adds another kind of essence to the place, and I’m not talking about religious essence, something magical. Moving to the food, it has every regular dish any cafe would serve and the food is spicy, and delightful. After walking a big distance for this happening place, do refresh yourself with the tasty lemonades they serve. The other road towards Dharamkot takes you to trekking, nothing special about the cafes on the way as they’ll just fulfil your hunger cravings, but trek to Triund is a must-do if you visit McLeodganj. You can find some good restaurants at Temple road too, just adjacent to the Main Square. Khana Nirvana is a quite famous one, though I haven’t tried eating there. Finally, when you are satisfied with your food experience at McLeodganj, it is time to pack your bags and come back home. Bon voyage!

Tokyo Unearthed

Japan counts among the most developed and sophisticated countries of the world. Along with being excruciatingly clean and beautiful, the positive behaviour of the people here is a thing to behold. Japan’s history, culture and heritage are objects of admiration too.

There are a number of airlines which get you to Tokyo. Narita International Airport of Tokyo receives most international flights. Narita is an area on the outskirts of the city of Tokyo. The journey requires approximately 8 hours from here to the city. The Japanese are very particular about punctuality and time; therefore it is unlikely for the flight to be late. From the airport, there are many means of transport which one can use to reach Tokyo. I recommend using the train because it is considerably cheaper. It is imperative to buy a JR (Japan Railways) pass from your own country before leaving for Japan. The JR pass can be retrieved from the JR office in Narita Airport. Buying this pass saves tourists a huge amount of money. It provides access to a varied means of transport owned by Japan Railways which include rail, bus and also a ferry in Miyajima, Hiroshima. The Narita Express transports you to Tokyo station in about 53 minutes. The best period to visit Japan is in the month of April. The cherry blossom trees are in full bloom and the weather is pleasantly cool at this time. I suggest that you carry a good windcheater to shield yourself from the cold. While Shibuya and Shinjuku are your best options when it comes to tourist residences, Ginza area is not bad either. One could also consider staying in Bed and Breakfast homes if not hotels, which is also cheaper and will give you a hint of the conventional way of life here. During my visit to Tokyo, I stayed at a Bread and Breakfast apartment in Chuo- Ku area of Ginza. Tokyo is an extremely tourist-friendly city. All the tourist destinations here are connected by railway. The JR railway lines form a circle in Tokyo.

After freshening up at your apartment, set out for the first destination- The Senso-ji Temple. The nearest station is Asakusa. Senso- ji is a Buddhist temple related to its Tendai sect. Just beside it is a Shinto Shrine, also called Asakusa Shrine. Just a walk from the Asakusa Station is the first gate of the temple, called Hazarimon or ‘thunder gate’ with a huge red lantern in the centre and figures of gods at each side. Entry to this spot is free. Leading from this gate to the second one is a shopping street called ‘Nakamise’. It is the perfect spot to buy souvenirs and taste Japanese food. I was pleasantly surprised to find green tea ice cream here. It was a different concept for me, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Men and women dressed in the traditional Japanese dress, Kimono, flock about. The air smells sweet owing to the cherry blossoms in full bloom. The shrine is grand from the inside. It looks like a mosaic of red, black and golden. There are a couple of other shrines too other than the main one. After paying your respects to the deity in the sanctum, we head to our second Destination, Ueno Zoological Gardens. The nearest Station to Ueno Zoological gardens is Ueno. It is closed on Mondays and the entry fee is 600 Yen. Be it the Arctic, Amazon Rainforests or the wilderness of Africa and India, one can find creatures from all corners of the world there. We can safely invest about 2 hours to explore the area and soak in its aura. After getting your dose of nature, we head to a place which is quite the opposite.

Our next spot is Akihabara Electric town. Akihabara station being the closest one, it is accessible directly through the JR line. Bright Neon Skylights and displays virtually teleport you to a world which is alien to the earth as we know it. You can treat yourself here to some Soba or Udon, both staple Japanese noodles. It will be subtly dark by the time you leave Akihabara. It is the perfect time to visit the TOKYO SKYTREE, from where the city looks bejewelled at night. The TOKYO SKYTREE stands tall at 634 metres and is the tallest Broadcasting Tower which is free- standing in the world. The highest we can go up in the structure is 450 metres. This floor is called the Tembo Galleria. The option of a lower level is available in the form of Tembo Deck standing at 350 metres of the SKYTREE’s height. The entry fee for this level is 2,060 Yen. What lies in wait at this floor is a spectacle to behold. At this position things down under look like minute granules. The city sprawled in front of your eyes will make you pinch yourself to get back to ground state. One can see the Sumida River, the Tokyo Tower and many such landmarks of the city from here. After taking in the sight to your heart’s content, we head back to our apartment. My experience of Tokyo will remain etched in my conscience forever. Every individual must pay a visit to this beautiful nation at least once in their lifetime.

Tips:

1. Adjust your watches according to Japanese Standard Time (JST), which is three and a half hours ahead of Indian Standard Time (IST).
2. While walking on a bridge over the Sumida River, you may spot some Jellyfish swimming by if you are lucky.
3. Entering the alleys of the Nakamise of Senso- ji Temple, you will enter a shopping haven where products will be on sale and you will get great discount on various items.
4. If Japanese food is not your thing, you can buy your lunch or dinner from ‘Konbini’ or the numerous convenience stores which contain all food items you could ever think of. Some of them are open all day and night long, for seven days a week.

A black lustrous cone full of large mouth watering french fries covered till the top with cheese and mayo sauces, accompanied with a red velvet cake and chilled glass full of thickshake,pleasant surroundings and quite ambience, inspiring quotes in funky texts and teen scribbed walls all over, orange and black themed "adda" with the best inclass crowd surrounding you from the study-cum-fashion hub svkm colleges, the smell of french fries that makes your diet plan shy, chilli sauces that wets your taste buds, chilled shakes and exotic pastries that gives you mini food orgasms.

Yup thats the place located right amidst the colleges and classes near Vile parle.

If you have been a regular traveller and u haven't seen this you are by far a jon snow(You know nothing).

Keep aside your regular,tiny french fries with a monotonous salty pinch taste and tiny petri dishes of dips, you can experience a cone full of large fries literally covered with sauces dripping down as u lift away your fries with the fork.

The quantity is far more than what a regular person can have for breakfast, but don't worry after a dazzling look of the cone where you will struggle to find your fries admist the sauces and the chessy-chilly taste you will have it full and then realize about your appetite. The cherry on the cake no Brewing over the coffee no *the sauces over the fries* is that these are availabel merely at a price of 100 bucks, and most of the items are below 150 bucks, so it won't put a hole in your pocket but it will definitely make a big hole in your belly with its lucius taste and chilli aroma.

My personal favourite is barbeque cheese. I would recommend all fries lovers as well as food bloggers to go there and try it once, sure I am ruining your diet plan but a cheat day spend here is " Totally worth it". Loved The Food and The Food Loved Me Back

George Bernard Shaw was apt right when he said "There is no sincerer love than the love of food." I've always loved to eat, and yet some food I've eaten linger in my memory long after I've licked the last speck from the plate. Why? I'm not exactly sure but that the spices tuck under my tongue and it's taste move in ways that long intrigues me. One such memory still afresh in my mind is an excursion to Udaipur- The Venice of India, that unearthed a plethora of tastes before my tongue, the food destination being UPRE. Since 1559 A.D. , the rooftop restaurant overlooking lake Pichhola is a real treat to watch. And add to it the poetry in recepie, music in spices, the whispers of garnishing and the regal splendour of ghee. This sense of completeness is truly amazing. UPRE has an ambience that lights you up instantly as you enter. 

I'm a vegan and a nonalcoholic too, so there wasn't much exploration for me to be done but the vegan's delight "Paneer" was something I would relish forever. The intricately woven spices in the gravies and the finely made ginger naan were seemingly the food of Gods themselves. The view overlooking the food made me realize that food isn't just food. Food is a thing of beauty. That preparation, that fragrance of spices, that wafting aroma-that just sweeps away depression, tiredness and name what you may. Jay Leno greedily said " soup is just a way of screwing you out of a meal." But food doesn't seem food without a bowl of soup. The tomato cream soup in the restaurant was the exact example of what one calls scrumptious. A taste to savour literally. The starter of Paneer Platter, followed by main course-Butter Paneer Masala, Veg Kofta, Malai Paneer, Butter and Ginger naan. Now if it comes to dessert I would go with Graham Kerr when he defined dessert as the perfect women: subtle, a little bittersweet, not blowsy and extrovert, delicately made up, not highly rouged, holding back, not exposing everything & of course with a flavor that lasts. And nothing is better than the all time delectable and yummy, the King of Indian Desserts-Gulab Jamun. Adding a little pinch of exotic sense to our Great Indian Diet was a cup of coffee the nectar of angels. Coffee has been fuelling us for centuries, pulling men and women into its embrace and never letting go. The Biker's Cafe Lounge at Chand pole, very near to UPRE, had the most pleasant-tasting Café Mocha in the world for sure. Black as the devil, hot as hell, pure as an angel, sweet as love, coffee is best defined by Sheikh-Abd-al Kadir as " common man's gold" where " like gold it brings to every person the feeling of luxury and mobility". Hence wrapped up our exploration of the deepest tastes and flavors of the Lake City on an indeed very happy note. Perhaps there could be a single taste that missed our hearts but on a complete note we found a mine of peppery, saporous, piquant, salty, gingery, toothsome and robust meal. After all Virginia Woolf was too honest when she said " One can't think well, love well, sleep well, if one hasn't dined properly".

The Untold Mysteries of Goa

I spent this birthday away with my family in Goa, unlike the usual drinking sessions with my friends.

We left the day before my birthday by flight and landed in Goa at noon. We checked in at 'L Hotel Eden' located in Panaji which is amongst the residential areas of Goa. This gave us a glimpse at the settled life in Goa and hence, taking walks to the beach was more pleasurable. It being our fourth trip here, we vowed to enjoy the trivial parts of it that usually goes unnoticed because of the frequently sought out "beach, babes and booze".

We vacated the hotel the next day and visited the small restaurants that cooked delicious fresh fish on our way to Agonda beach and checked in at 'Diva Bungalows'. The serenity of the beach left me spellbound!

The good food the beach side restaurants offered along with the captivating view of the vastly spread out beach made my day! I spent the entire two days by the beach, reading a book, getting a massage and playing with the stray dogs that were utterly friendly. It really taught me to live in the moment and that booze and parties were no way to appreciate life.

And hence, a commence to a wonderful yet different 21st.

Indian Paradise - Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh is the land of god and goddesses; it’s not only rich in culture but also rich in terms of greeneries and vivacious breath taking views. It was a short trip planned by me and my cousin, as soon as we done with our college exams. Himachal has always been our favourite place in India for having a family time or fun time with friends. It was a 5 days short road trip, from Delhi to Mcleodganj via Dharamshala to Palampur. We had a diesel car, which was the plus point for us in terms of expenses and as because of that the trip didn’t cost us much.

Mcleodganj the heart of dharamshala is famous for its Bhagsunag fall. There is a narrow stair case to the temple out there and the similar staircase leads to the waterfall.

It was just an incredible view. The quality of air over there was so serene and refreshing. And the weather of course completely unpredictable, but believe me that is the best part about it. Sudden rains are very common thing, when the chilled air hits your body it just feels amazing. It makes you feel like you are in paradise. After spending the whole day in mcleodganj by exploring few more places over there, we left for dharamshala. Returning back to dharamshala from mcleodgunj was a memorable journey, as we happen to forget the direction but because of that we landed to this beautiful place Kakeri Lake. It was a treasure, one could not imagine what nature holds on every second road and you never know what next exiting thing is waiting for you. We took a lot of pictures stayed there for one night and left on the very next day for Dharamshala. Even the people out there are very helpful, as we asked a tea staler about the right direction and he didn’t had much idea but he actually called 3 more people to help us by guiding towards the right direction.

The first destination in dharamshala was Dalai Lama Temple. The temple has been built in a very appealing manner and one could actually feel the purity. After that we explored the market and rested for one day. Spent quality time with each other and relaxed as the road trips at times become to tiring because of the zigzag roads. And finally on the next day we were all set to leave for pamplur. It just took us an hour to reach there but it actually felt like few minutes because of such smooth roads that one can’t even find in Delhi. One can easily make out that they have entered the palampur area when one starts getting the aroma of tea and can see tons and tons of tea garden around the road side. We reached the hotel (baroga heights) on time and relaxed for an hour and so and then left to explore much places around by walking. No worries, no pollution and just calmness, what more to ask for. Palampur is like mini Switzerland. The view is pleasing to eyes as well as soothing to heart; I’m sharing the picture below the content which will actually help you guys to trust my words. A must visit place. It’s new every time. Each time is a different experience.
